Beards Support Queens For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Bald, Bearded, & Blessed supports the queens in many different ways.  Not only do beards support queens with their affinity for the bald and bearded look, but the beards support queens in the fight against breast cancer. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Like many other awareness months, the scope of breast cancer awareness reaches far beyond 31 days. This blog is dedicated to the beards support of the queens in the fight against breast cancer via sharing awareness about this important topic.

What Beards Need to Know About Breast Cancer Awareness Month

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month was founded in October 1985, and originated from a partnership between the American Cancer Society and the pharmaceutical division of the Imperial Chemical Industries.  From it’s inception, the goal of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is to promote mammograms as the preventive method to fight against breast cancer.  This annual campaign is international and runs from October 1st through October 31st.  During this month, various organizations raise funds for research, prevention, education, awareness, and treatment for those women diagnosed with breast cancer. The fundraising activities consist of walks, marathons, and wearing the color pink.

Beards Need to Know the Impact of Breast Cancer

According to 2018 facts and figures published by the American Breast Cancer Society, it is estimated that there are 266,120 new cases of invasive breast cancer and 40,920 breast cancers deaths in the U.S. among women.  Breast cancer does not just affect women.  Listen up beards!  Although rare, men are diagnosed with breast cancer too! It is estimated that 2,550 cases of invasive breast cancer and 480 breast cancer deaths occurred among men in the U.S. this year.  The warning signs vary among each person, but the most common is a change in the look and feel of the breast especially around the nipple. Breast cancer screening test are important. Women age 40 and older should have a mammogram every year. The screening should be part of a woman’s regular well-check or physical exam. How Beards Support in Fight Against Breast Cancer

For every queen in the life of a bald and bearded guy, beards need to support our queens in this fight.  One way to support is to make sure that your queens age 40 and up are getting their mammograms annually. Queens will definitely be appreciative of the support.  One other way the beards can support the queens is to get involved in the National Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

Here are the ways beards can get involved:

  • Donating money to the cause.
  • Join a walk or run team to raise funds.
  • Wear pink during the month of October.

Bald, Bearded, & Blessed is elated to show our support to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We are happy to announce that a portion of each purchase of our breast cancer awareness shirt will be donated to breast cancer awareness.
