Fall is a great time of year. It’s the time of year where people are gearing up for the holidays. For the bald, bearded, and blessed persuasion, the month of November is a special month. This month is recognized as No Shave November. In this blog, we’ll focus on the significance of No Shave November and the correlation between embracing your beard and mustache, and the importance of raising awareness of the impact of cancer and male health.
What is No Shave November?
In November of 2007, a Chicagoland family lost their father in a battle with colon cancer. In 2009, the charity organization named No Shave November was born. Since it’s inception, No Shave November has expanded greater than the family that created it. No Shave November has helped raise over $2 million. The goal of No Shave November is to embrace one’s hair and letting it grow for 30 days to bring awareness to cancer. Since many cancer patients lose their hair, what better way to raise awareness than to let your man mane grow for 30 days.
How Can One Participate in No Shave November?
There are 3 simple ways you can participate in No Shave November.
- One way you can participate is just letting your beard and mustache grow. Put down your razor, scissors, and beard trimmers.
- Instead of spending money at the barber or hair maintenance for the month, donate to No Shave November fund raising events. Donate to no-shave.org/donate
- Have a conversation and raise awareness about male health and the impact of cancer.
How is Bald, Bearded, & Blessed Participating in No Shave November?
Just like Bald, Bearded, & Blessed supports Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are also supporting No Shave November. We have created a special edition shirt for No Shave November in both short sleeve and long sleeve. Bald, Bearded, & Blessed will donate a percentage of each No Shave November shirt purchase to no-shave.org. Not only will you have this special edition shirt, but you will also contribute to this charitable organization from which this awareness campaign was birthed.
Have a great No Shave November! Please share this blog and leave us a comment.
