3 Reasons To Give Thanks

We are now in the month of giving thanks.  November is one of my favorite months of the year.  Besides celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday, this is a time where one can reflect on the many reasons to give thanks.  I’m sure we could agree, the past 18 months with the COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging for us all.  However, some of us have chosen to give thanks.  In this blog, we want to share 3 reason to give thanks.

Give Thanks for Family

If there is nothing we’ve learned in the past 18 months, it is being thankful for family.  The connections with family can be some of the most powerful relationships we have.  As a business owner, family has not only been the “why” to what I do but also family helps me to keep the proper balance in life.  I am so thankful for the opportunity to spend time with family through some challenging and positive moments this year.  Sharing these moments can help with creating lasting memories that can be cherished throughout life.  Give thanks for family.

Give Thanks For Being a Positive Influence

If you are one who is a positive influence on others, give thanks for the opportunity to do so.  In the world we live in, we know bad news travels fast and negative energy can be exhaustive.  If you are the type of individual who uses your influence to have a positive impact on others, give thanks.  Give thanks for possessing the ability to brighten someone else’s day or provide a safe space for those who need encouragement. Being a positive influence can be something as simple as turning a frown to a smile on someone’s face, or doing some random act of kindness.  Being a positive influence can have small ripple effects to change what we don’t often see.  So, give thanks for being a positive influence.

Give Thanks In This Present Moment

Oftentimes, we are so busy that we don’t take time to be present in the moment.  Meaning, the hustle and bustle of life can have us in a constant state of fast forward motion.  So much so, some of us have a never ending checklist of tasks to do to include places to go and people to see.  Hopefully, we can create a space to slow down, sit still, and give thanks in that present moment.  Appreciate and value yourself to take a quiet moment to rest, relax, and reset.  In that present moment, give thanks.  Ponder in your mind and think of special memories with family and/or something positive you did to help someone else.  When you do so, give thanks.

Conclusion

Reasons to give thanks should not be exclusive to a month.  Have a thankful heart for simple things in life such as family, being a positive influence, and showing up for yourself to take a pause in your busy schedule.  If you have not done so, take a minute to just think about the aforementioned reasons to give thanks.  See if any or all of them resonate with you.  If so, simply give thanks.
